INTERNATIONAL HISTORICAL ULTRA-DISTANCE RACE

The International Club "Euchidios Athlos – Euchidas" is delighted and honored to announce the organization of the Authentic Euchidios Ultra Race on May 15-17, 2026.
The race will take place under the auspices of the Region of Central Greece, the Greek National Tourism Organization, the General Secretariat of Sports, with the support and cooperation of the municipalities along the route: Thebes, Livadeia, Distomo-Arachova-Antikyra, Delphi, as well as the participation and support of local sports clubs and institutions.

EUCHIDIOS ULTRA RACE

Route: Delphi – Plataeae – Delphi
Distance: 215 km
Start: Friday, May 15, 2026, 07:00, Delphi
Finish: Saturday, May 16, 2026, Delphi
Time Limit: 36 hours

• First half (Delphi – Plataeae): 16 hours

• Return (Plataeae – Delphi): 20 hours

This race is also a qualifying event for the Spartathlon, with time limits of 33 hours for men and 34 hours for women.

Checkpoints & Aid Stations:

• 38 manned checkpoints with full support (19×2)

• 12 unmanned water points (6×2)

Awards:
All runners who finish within the time limit will receive:

• Medal

• Diploma

• The unique Euchidas torch

Additionally, the top three men and top three women will receive special awards.
Award ceremonies will take place the morning of Sunday, May 17, 2026, after the Flame Lighting Ceremony and Torch Relay, as per tradition.

Electronic timing will be used. Medical care will be provided, with ambulance and doctors present throughout the race.

34th LIGHTING OF THE DELPHIC FLAME – EUCHIDIOS TORCH RELAY

Sunday, May 17, 2026 – Delphi

On Sunday, May 17, 2026, at approximately 09:30, in the framework of the Euchidios Athlos, the traditional Lighting of the Delphic Flame will take place (a tradition since 1993), followed by the Euchidios Torch Relay.

The torch relay is symbolic and takes place in the city of Delphi. All athletes, both from the Euchidios Ultra and from the 9 Muses Road Race, are invited to participate in this cultural event — as well as anyone who wishes.

Take part in this special torch relay, carrying the flame and the torch of Euchidas through the sacred city of Delphi!

Immediately afterward, the award ceremony for the athletes of the Euchidios Ultra Race and the Euchidios Athlos will follow.
