PREPARATIONS CONTINUE FOR THE 1st RUN TO FREEDOM WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE REGIONAL GOVERNMENT OF WESTERN GREECE

Following our request to Mr. Pan. Antonopoulos, Deputy Regional Governor for Sports of the Region of Western Greece:

The granting of the Region’s auspices for the 1st "RUN OF FREEDOM — which will commence on May 24, 2027, from the Sacred City of Messolonghi—was confirmed.
Funding was approved for an evening event to be held in Athens on September 16, 2026. This event will focus on evaluating the initial trial run (held this year on May 28–29) and discussing the level of preparations for the official run scheduled for May 2027.

We would like to remind you that the Regional Government of Western Greece had previously granted its auspices to the 2026 event and had approved a relevant grant to cover event 's expenses.

A meeting with the Regional Governor, Mr. Nektarios Farmakis, is expected to take place. This will give us the opportunity to brief him on the preparations and to discuss the co- organization and funding level of the event.
