Despite the fact that there is not yet a major international ultramarathon in Cyprus, interest in the sport is strong. Every year, several Cypriot athletes travel to Greece to take part in major events such as the Spartathlon, Euchidios Athlos, Dromos Athanatōn, and other important ultramarathons.

With the sport’s growing popularity, the creation of a major ultramarathon event in Cyprus could attract runners from all over the world, highlighting the island as a new, significant destination in the ultramarathon scene.
